If you’ve come to this page, chances are, you’ve already read a few baby books that told you all about putting the baby down “drowsy but awake” and that didn’t seem to work since little one’s eyes popped open as soon as he or she was set down. You’ve probably googled all the ways to put baby down without rocking for an hour, only to set him or her down and start all over again when your baby is wide awake. You’ve probably, like me, also asked a Facebook group to help you, but everyone made you feel guilty for wanting just a few hours of sleep.
It might be time to hire a professional. I am a Sleep Sense Certified Consultant, trained by Dana Obleman. As a pediatric sleeping consultant in the Los Angeles area, I have gone through rigorous and thorough training to allow me to use various techniques that fit to your parenting style. I have been working with children for many years as an educator, and I understand the importance of how sleep and development go hand in hand. Giving your little one the tools he or she needs to sleep is laying the groundwork for all the exciting milestones that are yet to come.
Bringing home our son Nicholas was supposed to be exactly what we had expected, sleepless nights, endless amounts of dirty diapers, and a life-changing experience, to say the least. But, nothing prepared us for the days ahead. What was supposed to be a few weeks, maybe months of sleepless nights, turned into almost countless months of tearful nights. Sleep deprivation is a reality that was a difficult one, but really a blessing in disguise. After reading a few baby sleep books with minimal success, we decided to hire a sleep consultant. After great success with creating healthy sleep habits for Nicholas, I decided to pursue a career and become a Sleep Sense Certified Sleep Consultant to help change other families’ lives, the way she changed ours.
